Dan Chua
A well-rounded waterman, Dan’s passion revolves around the ocean. Whether surfing, gliding down a steep tropical wall, freedive spear fishing, or hoisting the main sail- Dan is happiest in the water.
Growing up with parents that loved to dive got Dan into the water at an early age- taking the plunge off the coast of Malaysia before hitting double digits. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelors of Science degree in Hydrology, and then chased Kristy around California. Dan holds a US Coast Guard 50Ton Captain’s License and is a NAUI Dive Master with over 2000 dives.
Spending four years of his life sailing a catamaran around Mexico and the South Pacific, accumulating more than 20,000 nautical sea miles, taught him to slow down and enjoy the little luxuries in life like hot showers, cold beer, and safe anchorages.
Comfortable driving down dusty Baja roads, chasing tubes in Indo, or spending weeks on a dive live-aboard in the South Pacific, Dan is a seasoned world traveler. An avid big animal fan, nothing gets his heart pumping more than big pelagic fish, sharks out in the blue, or humpback whale flukes splashing through the water!
